Fourth Annual Winter Retreat!

Feb. 15-18, 2008 at Frost Valley YMCA (click for details of the retreat center)

We will be spending President's Day weekend (Feb. 15-18, 2008) at Frost Valley YMCA Camp in one of their 40-person modern Super Lodges. (Frost Valley is in Claryville, NY which is about a 2hr drive from the city.) The cabin has a fire place and a large general meeting area.

The weekend will consist of three nights, eight meals, cross country skiing, snow tubing, hiking, arts and crafts workshops, ice fishing and a plethera of other events of your choosing...or you could stay in the cabin by the fire place and drink hot cocoa all day. Thanks to monies from the District the cost is only $250/person. If you consider what you would normally spend for a cross-country ski weekend with hotel, rentals and meals, it's quite a bargain! And you would be with a group of UU young adults! However are also looking for individuals who might be able to offer scholarship money in excess of their fee to help others attend the retreat. If you are able to give more, please contact the registrar via ConnectUU.

We expect to fill the cabin in the first few weeks of January, so register soon if you want to reserve a space. Please mail your $100 deposit by January 15th to insure your spot on the trip. The full registration ($250.00) is due by the 10th of February.

Vision Con 2007

Come help us answer these questions at our upcoming Vision Con! All Young Adults (18-35) in the Metro NY District are invited to a FREE one-day conference featuring workshops on developing our mission and our vision as a young adult community. Lunch will be provided.

Social Action in the Sun

August 3-5, 2007 at Murray Grove Retreat and Conference Center.

Calling all UU Young Adults (age 18-35) for Social Action Under the Sun, a weekend-long summertime conference where we'll be making a difference in our community with workshops, a beach cleanup, and community-building activities.

This event is open to all Young Adults in the Metro NY District (NY, NJ, CT, and PA). This is an alcohol free event.

WHEN: August 3rd - 5th, 2007

COST: Sliding scale of $90 - $140.

What are Young Adults?

Young Adults are people generally between the ages of 18 and 35. Most young adult activities are age centered, not age exclusive, so if you don't fit into that age range, you may still be able to participate. Young Adults are often searching for their own spirituality, planning a career, making decisions about relationships, and seeking ways to live their values.
